Stephen Norris is the CTO at Daisee, helping to shape and lead the platform’s technology and mission. Stephen completed a first class honours degree in Computer Science from Sydney University in 1992 and has been working in a wide range of technical and executive roles ever since.
Prior to joining Daisee, Stephen co-founded credit card processing and stock market information startup CommSecure, working as the company’s CTO. Stephen’s technical achievements and insights led to him joining the speech and language technology company Appen, as head of the technology team.
Over the 13 years Stephen was at Appen, his role expanded to include technology, operations, business development and general management. When he left Appen in 2018 Stephen was managing a department of about 250 staff in 8 countries, and a team of 2000 annotators in the Philippines.
Stephen joined Daisee as an opportunity to emphasise and explore his passion for language and technology and their intersection with accessibility. He leads a strengthening team at the high growth voice-tech company, scaling the capabilities of the Daisee platform and expanding the company’s approach to innovation and disruptive technologies.
